From The Department Head

The rapidly developing digital transformation process in Turkey is increasing the need for qualified software developers every day. In this context, Doğuş University's Software Development Department, established under the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, is a pioneering program that combines a strong theoretical foundation with a practice-based education process in the field of software. In the first two years, our students learn the fundamental building blocks of software development, while in the last two years they specialize in areas they have chosen based on their interests and competencies.

The Software Development Department focuses on topics such as algorithm development, programming languages, data structures, software engineering, user experience design, mobile and web application development, artificial intelligence, and data science; aiming to equip individuals not only with technical knowledge but also with creative thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills.

In the first two years of our four-year undergraduate program, fundamental computer science courses and content aimed at strengthening mathematical foundations are offered; while in the third and fourth years, students have the opportunity to specialize in their areas of interest through technical elective courses covering different aspects of the software development process. Our program aims to go beyond simply equipping students with expertise in a narrow technical field; it seeks to cultivate individuals who can keep pace with technological change, think analytically, develop software solutions, collaborate across different disciplines, and embrace lifelong learning.

Through applied projects and internship opportunities within the program, our students gain real-world experience before graduation, making a solid start to their careers as competitive professionals in various fields of the software industry.
