Math
Mathematics, which is the foundation of all sciences, has many applications in itself. Numerical analysis used in engineering problems, probability and statistics, which are important tools of industry, finance and insurance mathematics, which have become increasingly important in recent years, are the main topics that come to mind.
Our aim is to help the students to grow in the theoretical or practical areas they choose according to their interests and abilities through the elective courses offered by the department after the basic and theoretical mathematics courses given in the first two years. The application-oriented training offered by our department starts with the "Program Software and Computer Hardware" courses in the first two semesters of the undergraduate program and continues with the elective and compulsory courses such as "Economics and Finance," "Banking and Insurance" opened almost every semester. In addition, the Department offers Double Major and Minor Programs in the fields of Business, Economics, Finance, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. For the students who want to work in the theoretical field and who want to do master's and doctorate in post-graduate mathematics, various advanced mathematics courses are an important part of our undergraduate program.
Successful students in the Mathematics Department, who have a very qualified academic staff and attach great importance to research, can take part in the research of their teachers and start to understand the logical basis and characteristics of the discipline from the first stage of their education.
