Nihan Katırcı
Nihan Katırcı’s research centers on theoretical and observational cosmology implementing gravitational physics and theories. She investigate and use cosmological tensions to probe theoretical models
beyond the general theory of relativity as a part of a well-established Cosmology group in İstanbul. In 2021, She became associate professor in Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Doğuş University after postdoctoral
positions at İstanbul Technical and Boğaziçi University. She is the one of the second proposers and management committee and working group members of CosmoVerse Cost action “Addressing observational tensions
in cosmology with systematics and fundamental physics“ in Data analysis in cosmology and fundamental physics. In addition to previous involvement to CANTATA Cost action-Cosmology and Astrophysics Network for Theoretical Advances
and Training Actions, she is currently a researcher in a project supported by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, on construction of cosmologies resembling a sign-switching cosmological constant dynamics
which can simultaneously address tensions, and in project titled “Late-time Cosmology: General relativity and beyond” , supported by Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology. Nihan Katırcı with her collaborators
have developed the energy-momentum squared gravity. She serves as Communication Dissemination and Valorisation Officer of the COST Action a new Action NEXTCOSMO Proposal, where she is also a Management Committee member for Türkiye.
In this role, she coordinates outreach, communication, and dissemination activities to enhance the visibility and impact of the network at the core group.
